Olive Harvest

Meeting each of the trees is like meeting an elder, being part of an ancient practice of listening and care. There are 3 different varieties of olives on the land and each tree offers you its yield in a completely different way, some trees allowing you to pick an abundance with ease. With other trees, we found ourselves climbing into the branches reaching up high, twisting and leaning into find the gold.

We harvested across the terraces with a view to the mountains getting to know each tree, how the light and wind moves across the land as we traveled.

The olives were cold extracted in a local press, producing what the locals call ‘ liquid gold’! Eating the olive oil, or the olives, whilst staying on the land does something simple yet profound in the body - a moment of complete connection to all that is around.
